District councillor Raj Visram has been active with local charities since moving to St Albans in 2007. Since being elected in May 2020, he has been involved inimproving open spaces, safer roads and the post-pandemic regeneration of local businesses. He also works with other organisations to improve health and well-being in the area and increase training and employment opportunities. His interests include wine, cooking and, when possible, travel.
Elissa Da Costa-Waldman is a relative newcomer to St Albans, having moved here with her late husband in 2013. She is, however, used to working in the community having been a leading light in the St Albans United Synagogue for some years, now looking to help the wider local community as a councillor with a particular interest in bringing different religious and cultural communities together. Elissa is also a barrister, author and grandmother of seven for whom she enjoys exercising her culinary skills.
