Your Sandridge and Wheathampstead candidates for the May 2022 St Albans district council elections are Kristian Gavan, Sharon Hollingsworth and Lynn Cunningham (not pictured).
Kristian Gavan is a Chartered Accountant and owns a financial services business in the City of London. He and his wife have three sons who all attend local schools, where he serves as a Governor. He is passionate about making our villages vibrant places to live and work.
Kristian offers a younger, stronger voice for the villages and will fight to secure greater investment in our community facilties and activities. He also wants to see meaningful improvement in our cycleways.
Kristian will work to ensure that more affordable housing for young people and families still protects the green belt. He also wants action on making our roads safer, including on Brewhouse Hill and Marford Road.
Sandridge resident of 25 years Sharon Hollingsworth is a former environmental consultant who wants to see more affordable housing for young people that still protects the green belt. She wants to campaign for improvements to cycleways for greener travel between both villages and St Albans and Harpenden centres.
Lynn Cunningham and her husband have lived in the district for 17 years, and mostly enjoy its beautiful natural spaces with their dog, and the wonderful local facilities it has to offer. Since giving up her HR career four years ago to care for her husband, who is living with dementia, Lynn has become much more aware of the need for strong local voices. She is passionate about mental health care, well-being for carers and accessible support for those who find it difficult to advocate for themselves. Lynn regularly volunteers as a trainer with lived carer experience, on courses for mental health professionals, and was until recently, a Trustee for a Women’s Refuge.
